Stretch marks are not something to show off.  Stretch marks appear whenever the body, or a part of it, experience sudden, stressful changes. Once it experiences enough stress, it causes a tear on the skin, resulting to “trailing” scars.

Getting rid of stretch marks is possible.  By following the steps below, you can remove and treat your stretch marks :

1. Once your skin shows signs of stretch marks, it is important for you to find a solution for it immediately before it ends up developing into huge, unsightly scars.  To keep it from developing into a stretch mark, you should apply moisturizers onto your skin.  Doing this hydrates the skin, which hinders it from becoming a stretch mark.

2. Tanning lotions and ointments are also helpful, as well as a viable treatment method, for stretch marks.  Using tanning lotions is a viable treatment option (cheaper as well), compared to tanning treatments.  Ointments are useful in providing your skin with the nutrients it needs for it to become more healthy-looking and more vibrant .

NOTE:  Be wary that not all tanning lotions and ointments are effective, as different items contain various substances and ingredients that may or may not work with other people.  It is recommended that you consult a dermatologist first before you use one.

3. Regular intake of vitamins and minerals are also of great help in treating your stretch marks.  Vitamins A, C, and E are essential for the skin’s growth, as well as vital in preventing stretch marks and other skin problems to appear.

4. Keep yourself hydrated at all times.  Water is very important for our body, as this gives us the energy we need to keep going.  Water is also needed in the development of our skin.  So if you want to prevent skin problems like stretch marks from appearing, it is vital for you to drink at least 8 (or, if possible, more) glasses per day in order to keep your skin hydrated.

5. If all the steps above has been proven ineffective in treating your stretch marks, you may want to consider undergoing laser treatment for it. This treatment will remove your stretch marks permanently, for a high price (around $200-$1000).

NOTE:  Before opting for this type of treatment, it is best that you try out (again) the above methods.  Also, consulting a dermatologist first and asking advice on alternative treatments regarding your stretch marks is a good idea as well.

After this man's question of How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks he turned to surgery. These are his results just 2 weeks later.
